Primary Care and MHQP’s 30 Years of Impact Take Center Stage in Podcast Featuring Barbra Rabson

(March 2026)

MHQP President and CEO, Barbra Rabson, was the guest on this month’s Health or Consequences episode of The Codcast from the CommonWealth Beacon, with hosts John McDonough of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Paul Hattis of the Lown Institute.

In this program, entitled “Trying to measure primary care’s downward spiral,” the hosts and guest discuss Barbra’s 28 years at MHQP, why the organization’s work to improve the quality and equity of patient experience is important, and how data gathered by MHQP over the years paints a clear picture of a primary care system wildly out of balance despite its critical importance. They also reflect on MHQP’s three decades of contributions to Massachusetts health care in anticipation of the organization’s 30th anniversary celebration in May.

“MHQP’s magic power is that our mission is singularly focused on improving patients’ experiences of care and everyone wants to improve patient care,” said Rabson.
