Boston Globe Front Page Article Features MHQP’s Work Surveying Medicaid Patients

(January 2019)

MHQP is pleased to share an article by Liz Kowalczyk from the front page of the Boston Globe on January 15, 2019.

Having collected and published information on the experience of commercially-insured patients in Massachusetts for more than a decade, MHQP has been working under contract with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) for the Commonwealth to conduct statewide patient experience surveys of people insured through the state’s Medicaid program, MassHealth, and participating in the new Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and Community Partners programs.

In 2018, MHQP fielded adult and child versions of a patient experience primary care survey for six ACOs. This month, we will be implementing the full launch, which includes 17 ACOs, 9 long term services and support (LTSS) community partners, and 18 behavioral health (BH) community partners.

All surveys will be in the field in early February, with survey data collection closing in early May.

The primary care surveys are available online in six languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Vietnamese and Haitian Creole. The behavioral health and long term services and supports surveys are available in English and Spanish.
